An Example of our Work - Metrowest Rentals Case Study
To get an idea of what it is like to work with Blackstone Web Design, we have outlined a start to finish overview of a web site design we did recently for one of clients: Metro-West Realty and Property Management.
Goal: Redesign of an existing web site.
Initial Consultation
As you can see from the screen image below, the client's original web site was ok, but wasn't conveying the professional image they desired.

During our initial consultation with the client, we talked about what needed to be improved on their site, including:
Improved overall look for the site that conveyed: Professionalism, Warmth, and Ease of use for site visitors.
Simplified navigation between the key areas of the web site.
An enhanced method for uploading and managing photos and descriptions of properties for sale and rent.
Improved and more flexible site security for employees using the system to update and maintain property listings.
Enhanced property listings with photos on each page.
Integration of the Web Site with MLS (Multiple Listing Service).
Conceptual Design
Below are some initial sketches we came up with during a design session with the client. We talked about color selection, navigation, and overall site look and feel.

From this meeting and these sketches we designed a completely new web logo for the company and used that to put together the following web page template that would be employed throughout the web site. The client enthusiastically approved this template.

Execution
With a clear understanding of the client’s goals, we took a look at the existing site and decided that there were enough changes being requested that it would be easier to design a new site from scratch. Blackstone Web Design incorporated all of the client's design criteria over a period of 3 weeks, relying on an Internet accessible version of the new web site so the client could review progress, as work was ongoing. We also had design review meetings with the client roughly once a week to go over progress and ensure the client was satisfied with the project.
Final Results
With final approval of the new web site from the client, we enabled the site to be "live" on the internet.

The newly renovated web site was configured with a lower cost hosting provider to help the company save money. The client was very happy with the results and agreed to accept our standard support program to help them with ongoing site support and maintenance.
